Dewey's 24 Hour Read-A-Thon Tips for All!

Hey everyone! I hope you all are having a great month. I am super excited since the Dewey's 24 Hour Read-A-Thon is almost here. I have only done this once, but I learned a lot during that 24 hour period. Now I am going to share my advice with you.

1. Read What YOU Want to Read.

This is incredibly important. If you are not reading something you want to read and your pushing yourself to read it, then put it down and take a break. Read something you want or take a nap. If your doing this, it could led to a reading slump or watching Netflix... I totally did that! Not that there is anything wrong with taking a break! Or watching Netflix...

2. Take Breaks, Even Naps!

This is key to having fun during this read-a-thon! If your eyes start to blur, take a nap. If your hungry or want to watch Netflix for a little bit. Do it! Or you could cheer other people on during the read-a-thon. If you didn't sign up to be a cheerleader, join #TeamRogue and cheer. :D Just do not over work yourself.
*Yes this kinda contradicts the first one, but I don't care :P*

3. Remember You DON'T Have to Read the Entire Time.

Don't work yourself trying to read for the whole 24 hours! Then again if you really want to you could, but I think it would be very very hard to do and you don't have to. This read-a-thon should be fun, not pushing yourself until you break and cannot move the next morning because your comatose in bed. :P

4. SNACKS!

Snacks are the second key! I personally buy snacks and horde them in my room until the read-a-thon...no I don't have a problem! :P

5. Read Multiple Books! Don't Stick to One Book! & Don't be Afraid to Read Something Not on your TBR!

Some people think that they either have to stick to their TBR or read one book at a time, but you don't!  SCENRIO: It's time for your read-a-thon and you see that book on your shelf and it's calling your name, but it's not on your TBR. DON'T ignore that feeling. Go pick up that book up and don't stress that its not on your TBR! Who actually cares if you deviate for your TBR? As long as you having fun, there is no problem! Also read more than one book because a book that sounds good at 12 o'clock in the afternoon, might not sounds as sweet in the wee hours of the morning!

6. DRINKS!

Whether it is water or coffee, it's a need because you cannot go all day without a beverage. It would not be healthy, so don't forget! :P

7. Reading Sprints!

I absolutely adore reading sprints on twitter! They make this read-a-thon even more fun! If you don't know what reading sprints are, they are allotted times that you read with a group of people or a couple of people on social media, mostly twitter for me, and when the time is up you come back to twitter and share your experience reading! I might be hosting some of my own. Not to sure, but I might. Let me know in the comments if this sounds good to you! Or if you want to join me on twitter readin! :D

8. HAVE FUN!

Don't make this about entirely about working or beating others in the amount of books you read.
Make it about having fun, talking to others, and making new friends! Then you truly have done this read-a-thon right!

That is all I have for tips for the Dewey 24 Hour Read-A-Thon! I hope to talk you peeps, who are participating, and maybe we can do some reading sprints! Also I'll leave the links to the Dewey's 24 hour read-a-thon sign up page and the Goodreads page! Happy Reading!

Night of All Evil by J.M. Shorney

My Rating: 3/5 stars Average Rating: 4/5 stars Format: ebook ISBN13: 9781310806902 I received a free copy in exchange for a honest review from AuthorAmp.com Night of All Evil was a good gothic horror novel about a witch named Freya that has a dark past that comes back to haunt her and her family. Freya was my favorite character and I really enjoyed reading from her point of view. The thing I liked about her was how she acted in the situations she is placed in. She also is just an interesting person that also happens to be a super powerful witch, which is pretty cool. In fact once I started this novel, I had a hard time putting it down. While I really enjoyed reading the story, the character development was just okay and it was kind of predictable. However, it was still a good read that grabbed my attention and kept me entertained.                                                                                                                 Thanks for reading!

DAY ONE! Reading Cram 2.0: Chills and Thrills Readathon! TBR Challenge!

"Oct 24-- TBR challenge- -List what books you are planning to read for the read-a-thon, on your blog, YouTube, etc. You don't have to stick to the list FYI :)"- Juliababyjen These are not in any particular order and I may or may not read these. This is a rough idea of the books I'll be reading or trying to read. Three of the six books were recommended to me by MonsterMen13 on YouTube...well not exactly to me but in general.  Also just because I wrote down six books does not mean I'll get to them or that I will read six books.  **The themes are based off of the summary and friends** Stardust by Neil Gaiman ; started Spooky Theme: Witches... I started this during the Octobathon and did not finish. Horns by Joe Hill Spooky Theme: Thriller, Mystery... I heard about this book from padfootandprangs07 a while back. Then my friend recommended it to me. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children  By Ransom R
